AhlulBayt News Agency: On Monday morning and afternoon, scores of extremist Jewish settlers stormed the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem, while Israeli police heavily restricted Muslim worshipers’ access to the holy site.
According to local reports, dozens of settlers entered the Mosque through the Maghariba Gate and roamed its courtyards provocatively under the protection of Israeli police forces.
During the visit, settlers received religious instruction from rabbis regarding the alleged Temple Mount and several of them performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern section of the mosque compound.
Meanwhile, Israeli police imposed tight restrictions on the movement and entry of Muslim worshipers, preventing many from accessing the site through its gates.
In response, Palestinian activists called on Jerusalemites and Palestinians from 1948 occupied territories to increase their presence at the Aqsa Mosque to defend it against Israeli infringements.
A day earlier, a group of extremist settlers gathered in the Palestinian al-Wad neighborhood near the Aqsa Mosque, where they danced and sang provocatively.
Witnesses reported that the settlers rallied under police protection, while Palestinian civilians faced movement restrictions as they attempted to enter the Mosque for prayer.
